South West Inaugural Event
22 November, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm
The Leaders Club in partnership with corporate members the Officers Association, are delighted to invite you to join us for a fascinating presentation from one of the South West’s most prominent business leaders, Karl Tucker, MD of Yeo Valley.
Speaker – KARL TUCKER, MD of Yeo Valley
The challenges of starting a business and going from ‘zero to hero’ are formidable and not without highs and lows. The essence of TLC is sharing and learning from these leadership experiences.
Yeo Valley dairy brand was founded back in 1974 by entrepreneurial West Country farmer Roger Mead and his wife Mary. From the outset the products have centred on being organic and passing the ‘yummy’ test.
The business has flourished by seizing the opportunities offered by the growth in organic food, especially in a market increasingly dominated by multinational dairy processors is a credit to the family, directors and 1,700 women and men who work across Somerset and Devon. The dairy industry has consolidated hugely in the past two decades and Yeo Valley is now one of the largest privately owned dairy processors, selling branded organic and non-organic milk and yogurts, as well as producing own-brand yogurt for the supermarkets. Karl is a business leader able to see and seize opportunities every day and make the most of them, whilst safeguarding the original family values and purpose.
