80% of business owners are wrong about EVERYTHING (And that means YOU)
Jay Allen has been a member of TLC for some years. A frequent attender of our events and a very successful user of social media (and LinkedIn in particular) I thought it was high time to find out what makes him tick and successful.
Looking at Jay’s CV, it’s not the most logical career progression, but listening to his story of both never giving up but learning to turn downturns into opportunities, you start to see how the pieces fit together to form this journey from ‘average college kid’ to ‘International Best Seller’
.
Qualified initially with a degree in Psychology, Jay turned to Medicine to join the British Army. A promising career began to unfold until a series of ‘incidents’ saw him both divorced and medically discharged, spending almost two years in rehabilitation.
Since then, he has worked at the Directorship level with both High Street Brands and within the Public Sector, eventually turning to Entrepreneurship. Where he has subsequently either bought, acquired or set up FOUR of his own businesses, which he has successfully scaled and exited TWICE.
Winning both National and International awards for Ethics and Business Impact, he suddenly realised not all business owners were achieving the same results.
As Guest Lecturer on the UCLAN MBA Entrepreneurship programme, he began studying what causes BIG businesses to fail. Which led to one of the most extensive surveys on Business Vulnerabilities. The findings of such, were so alarming, he has determined it’s now his mission to share this, (and the methodology he has devised to review and amend this) with 1,000,000 Business Leaders, that collectively businesses can significantly and sustainably Scale Up sufficiently, to generate at least 10 more new roles per business, and eradicate unemployment in the UK.
So, what can we learn from his knowledge, skills and capability. Join us to find out more.
