Membership of The Leaders Club

On applying to become a Member of The Leaders Club you are automatically agreeing to these terms and conditions and you are providing us with the appropriate consent to handle your personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act. References to the “TLC”, “we” or “us” are references to the Board of Trustees of The Leaders Club.

Our acceptance of your application will bring into force a legally binding contract between us and these terms and conditions will form the basis of that contract through which The Leaders Club will deliver a service to you as a Member.  Where you apply for Gift Membership for someone else, we will deliver these services to the person named in your application.

1. Membership benefits

1.1 The Leaders Club Members will receive a range of benefits. A typical Membership package will include:

  • Introductory welcome pack
  • Discounted entry to paid events
  • The opportunity to attend Members’ events held nationally
  • Access to the Members’ website
  • Regular e-newsletters and communications

  • Offers from third parties
  • 1.2    Any third parties or external providers of a benefit included in the Membership package will have absolute discretion in relation to the provision of services.
  • 1.3    Services supplied from a third party or an external provider will be subject to the supplier’s own terms and conditions. We are in no way responsible for and do not accept any liability for loss or damage suffered as a result of a fault, error or omission in the provision of these services.
  • 1.4    We reserve the right to change the benefits that apply to The Leaders Club Membership at any time and without prior notice. Where possible, changes to benefits will be published on The Leaders Club website and within the Members’ website.

2. Visiting and Booking Events as a Member

2.1    The Leaders Club operates a timed ticket system to monitor capacity and visitors’ health and safety.

2.2    Members must pre-book event tickets online at theleadersclub.org

2.3   If a Member is unable to use his or her pre-booked tickets, he or she should let us know so that we can cancel the place and offer it to another Member.

2.4 Members are required to log in to the website in order to activate event discount.

3. Right to refuse applications

3.1    The Leaders Club reserves the right to refuse any application for Membership. The Leaders Club also reserves the right not to fulfil or to cancel a Membership if you (or the Member, where you purchase Gift Membership for another person) are found to be in breach of these conditions.

3.2    On receipt of your order we will debit your card or process the Direct Debit payment for the price (as applicable). However our acceptance of your offer remains subject to approval of it by us. Once a decision has been reached we will either confirm that your application has been accepted, at which point a contract will be formed between us, or notify you that we cannot accept your application. If we cannot accept your application for whatever reason we will confirm that your account has been re-credited (if applicable).

4. Price information

4.1    All quoted Membership fees are for a one-year Membership subscription.

4.2    We reserve the right to increase the price of your Membership subscription on an annual basis. You will be informed of any fee increase within your renewal letter.

5. Credit/Debit card payments

5.1    The credit/debit card information you provide us for a Membership transaction is used solely for the purpose of processing that Membership transaction. If we are unable to process payment from the credit/debit card details you have provided we will contact you immediately to verify your card details.

5.2    We strongly advise you against sending us any credit/debit card information via email. It is contrary to the rules of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) for us to accept credit/debit card payments by email and we will decline to accept payment by this means.

5.3    If you are not using your own credit/debit card to pay for the Membership subscription, you must ask permission of the credit/debit card holder before entering payment details. When you subscribe to Membership of The Leaders Club either online, by post or verbally, you are confirming that you have obtained the express prior permission of the credit/debit card holder.

6. Auto-renewal of Subscription/Membership

6.1    The Leaders Club yearly membership subscription will automatically renew when paid by debit or credit card.
6.2     Your membership will renew if you don’t turn off Automatic Renewal more than 48 hours before your renewal date. To turn off Automatic renewal please email info@theleadersclub.org

7.    Your right to cancel

7.1    As a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel the contract formed between us (and receive a refund of the fees paid) if you change your mind or decide for any other reason that you do not want to continue the Membership.

7.2    Your legal right to cancel the contract starts from the date on which we confirm that your application for Membership has been accepted, which is when the contract between us is formed. Your deadline for cancelling the contract is 14 days after the day on which this contract was formed.

7.3    To cancel a contract, you just need to let us know that you have decided to cancel. To cancel an order, you must contact us via email at info@theleadresclub.org

7.4    If you cancel the contract in accordance with clause 7.2 we will:

7.4.1    refund you the price you paid for the Membership. Please note we are permitted by law to reduce your refund to reflect the period of time (if any) that the Membership was valid up to the date on which we were notified of your decision to cancel the contract and so we shall be entitled to charge the full price of any exhibition or event the Member attended (or booked but failed to attend) prior to cancellation; and

7.4.2    make any refunds due to you as soon as possible and in any event within the deadlines indicated below.

9. Data protection and use of personal data

9.1    When you apply for Membership (and throughout the course of your Membership subscription) it will be necessary for us to obtain from you certain information (such as your name, address, date of birth, etc.) which we will treat as ‘personal data’ for the purposes of data protection law. We will process your personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, The Leaders Club’s Privacy Policy and as otherwise permitted or required by law.

9.2    The personal data you supply will be used to process the Membership application and, if your application is successful, to administer the Membership subscription. Your personal data may also be used for The Leaders Club marketing, statistical and analytical purposes. You will receive Membership communications and from time to time we will, unless you instruct us otherwise, use your contact information to let you know about The Leaders Club promotions.

9.3    You can unsubscribe from receiving promotional communications by post, telephone or email (using the ‘Unsubscribe’ link at the footer of all emails or by contacting the Membership team). Once we have received your request, we will take appropriate steps to cease using your information in this way.

9.4    We may disclose information about you to any of our employees, officers or agents insofar as that is reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in these terms and conditions. We may also disclose your information to The Leaders Club Limited for its internal purposes and so they can contact you where this is appropriate. Otherwise, we will not pass your personal data to third parties without your prior consent.

9.5    You may instruct us to provide you with any personal information we hold about you. Any individual wishing to access their personal information should put their request in writing, using the contact details set out below. Please let us know if any personal information that we hold about you needs to be corrected or updated.

10. Events

10.1    Members will have access to a programme of events organised by The Leaders Club on behalf of the Members. Many events will require a cost in addition to the annual Membership fee and members will receive a discount from the standard ticket price.

10.2    Events will be limited by capacity and will vary according to event. Therefore attendance cannot be guaranteed to all Members and we would recommend booking in advance.

10.3    Tickets for both the free and paid-for events will be available on a first-come, first-served basis via the Members’ website.  If the Member has requested a ticket but is subsequently unable to attend a particular event, we would ask that the Member advises the Membership team as soon as possible, so the place can be made available to another Member.

10.4    We reserve the right to cancel or rearrange an organised event. A current events programme will be made available to Members via the Members’ website.

10.5    Members’ tickets for paid events are non-refundable.

10.6    The Leaders Club does not accept liability for any costs incurred (e.g. travel) by Members if The Leaders Club has to close or cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances.
