The Gift of a Radio

“If I ever get the chance to do Desert Island Discs then my choice of a luxury will probably be a radio receiver tuned to BBC Radio 4. The day starts at 7:00 when the Today programme is switched on (I can still recall the early days with Jack de Manio, John Timpson and the inimitable Brian Redhead).”

To me, Justin Webb is the best of the current presenters and his questioning whilst incisive is combined with professionalism and courtesy. But life has not been without its significant challenges and ‘life’s banana skins’ are at the heart of our TLC events. What can we learn from each other because leadership can be a lonely occupation.

Biography

Justin Webb is the longest serving presenter of Today on Radio Four.   He joined the programme in 2009, before that he was the BBC’s first North America Editor during which time he won awards for his coverage of the rise of Barack Obama.  He has also been based for the BBC in Brussels and reported from Bosnia, the Gulf, the former Soviet Union, the Indian subcontinent and South Africa.    He was educated at the London School of Economics and lives in south London with his wife and three children.
