TLC has enjoyed a marvellous relationship with the Officers Association for many years. In 2022 as we will learn the OA and FEC have combined in order to widen their remit for greater benefit.
In this presentation, Alistair will be discussing the strengths Service leavers, veterans and their spouses bring to the civilian workplace, and how the new Forces Employment Charity is supporting them as well as employers
Alistair joined RFEA as Chief Executive in January 2019 and became Chief Executive of the Forces Employment Charity following the combination with the Officers’ Association employment services in May 2022. The Charity supports over 22,000 Service leavers, Veterans, Reservists and their families into employment each year. He is a Director on the Cobseo Executive Committee and chairs the Cobseo Employment Cluster of 25 employment charities.
A senior business and military leader, he has worked in corporate business, government and the voluntary sectors, with extensive experience in media communications, strategy, change and business development.
He was a Director at BFBS where he set up the Forces Media Academy and a Director at Raytheon managing the UK Training Business and business development for Training in Defence and in wider Government.
Prior to Raytheon, Alistair served in the Royal Navy for over 32 years where he specialised as a Principal Warfare Officer, commanding 3 warships. He was Military Assistant to the Chief of Defence Logistics before becoming Director Defence Public Relations, managing RN, Army, RAF and Defence media communications. His final MOD post was Head of Reserve Forces and Cadets, responsible for tri-service policy for all Reservists, implementing the Reserves Review.
He is a graduate of Reading University, Manchester Business School and the Joint Service Defence College at Greenwich, and received the Freedom of the City of Manchester.
