We’ll take an honest look at what’s really going on with the NHS, ask some tough questions, and explore whether our deep attachment to it is helping or holding it back. Will Wes Streeting’s Ten Year Plan kill or cure?
Bio:
Dr Kate Prior is a consultant anaesthetist at King’s College Hospital and a Trauma Team Leader at St Mary’s Hospital in London. In addition, she is the Head of the Professional Development Team at NHS England responsible for the unit supporting resident doctors in difficulty.
She has recently retired from the Royal Navy after nearly 32 years and has certainly seen the world. Her operational military role has taken her to war in Afghanistan and Iraq, Sierra Leone during the Ebola crisis, working for the United Nations in South Sudan along with a lot of time afloat.
Outside of the hospital walls, she practises motorsport medicine at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and works at mass participation sporting events such as the London Triathlon. Kate gads about the globe teaching on courses and speaking at conferences.
Outside of work, Kate is a keen theatregoer, tries not to get killed cycling about London and indulges in holidays, shoes and handbags.
