Bob Judson Interviews….Emily Stone
As most of you will know apart from Bob’s hugely appreciated involvement with TLC (over 10 years now) he separately runs his own consultancy called Leading 4 Life https://www.leading4life.co.uk/team. From this Bob produces an excellent weekly podcast featuring in depth interviews with noted leaders plus personal leadership reflections.
Given that these excellent interviews can last for 90 minutes or so I suggested to him that we might adapt his formula for an occasional TLC series featuring an interview of about 45 minutes with a Q&A which would fit the usual TLC pattern of around 60 minutes.
Who first then? Well the TLC event we ran on 18th March immediately presented us with the opportunity because Emily Stone was the standout star of the event we ran under the shorthand of ‘Generationally Speaking’. It’s worth reminding us about Emily’s background.
Emily Stone is a third year degree apprentice on Deloitte’s Brightstart Programme. She has a passion for understanding what truly motivates people at work. Drawing on her research exploring what different generations value in the workplace, Emily brings a new approach to a topic often clouded by stereotypes and assumptions. One that has become increasingly relevant for leaders navigating evolving talent expectations.
Emily supports digital and people‑focused transformation programmes across both the public and private sectors. In her nascent career, she has already seen how rapidly the world of work is shifting — shaped by evolving expectations, new ways of working, and the experiences of different generations.
Growing up during a period of significant social and technological change, and completing key stages of her education during the Covid‑19 lockdown, has given Emily a first‑hand understanding of how formative experiences shape attitudes to work. These insights, combined with her research, have fuelled her interest in how organisations can better understand and engage a multigenerational workforce.
While still at the beginning of her career, Emily brings a perspective that complements the extensive experience of senior leaders, offering data‑driven insight into the trends that will continue to influence the workforce over the coming decades.
What I think will make for a really interesting interview/discussion is the juxta position between Bob’s years of senior leadership experience including facilitating at Deloitte Unjiversity events abroad and Emily’s sharp mind and brilliant presentation skills and her thoughts and ideas on what makes things tick.
This should be a very enjoyable discussion
