US AI. Is America winning the AI War?
Tony Reeves
Lead Partner, Digital Defence, Deloitte
Â
President Trump has convinced US technologists that their future is best in his hands. Facing a growing dependency on technology and AI to maintain competitive advantage, the US military is following the US private sector and racing to adopt AI and autonomous systems.
Yet can the US prevent China outstripping the US economy and military? How can the US maintain it’s technological advantage?
And if a war between US and China happened, would the US have allies that matter?
Welcome back our No1 AI guru -Tony Reeves
Tony has pioneered digital disruption across defence and government sectors for the last 25 years as a military officer, government advisor, and business leader.
He encourages faster adoption of new thinking, while warning of the potential risks created by digital transformation and disruptive technologies.
He is a keen advocate for the need to change our mindsets, not our toolsets, to achieve critical advantages over adversaries and competitors, who increasingly realise their technological benefits at a quicker pace.
Tony has always been a geek and has served as a British Army Infantry Officer on operations in Bosnia, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, and Northern Ireland. In a critical national role, he supported the military adoption of new technologies and ways of working in Afghanistan, Iraq, and across Africa.
Tony shaped future UK battlefield C4ISR solutions aligning future technological options with commercial approaches across sectors, before joining Microsoft to develop ethical technologies, including AI and mixed realities.
He is now Deloitte UK Partner for Digital Defence, leading on AI adoption with UK MOD, exploiting big data, and digitising delivery operations.
